White Creek Meadow Enhancement Project - Aquatic Contracting

Klickitat County, WA

Aquatic Contracting (AC) was selected by the Yakama Nation to complete this stream and meadow enhancement project near Glenwood, Washington. The White Creek watershed lies within the Closed Area of the Yakama Reservation, approximately 20 miles east of Mount Adams. White Creek is a tributary to the Klickitat River and is home to ESA listed steelhead. For this project, AC improved meadow and aquatic habitat conditions, excavated additional floodplain/wetland benches, and installed over 200 logs to create additional habitat throughout the project site. The project expanded the availability of wetland/riparian habitats and the availability of high flow refugia for steelhead, helping to restore this degraded and incised reach of White Creek.
