West Fork Hood River Restoration - Aquatic Contracting

Mount Hood, OR

Aquatic Contracting (AC) was contracted by the US Forest Service (USFS) to construct log jams and tip approximately 150 trees into the West Fork of the Hood River. The project also included the re-connection of relic side channels and adjacent floodplains. The effort was very successful and completed on time in a remote location. The habitat structures survived one of the wettest years on record, satisfying project goals for habitat enhancement on the reach. After the success of our initial West Fork project, AC was awarded a similar contract in 2017, continuing our successful stream and riparian restoration efforts in this watershed.
