Wilark Bridge - Clatskanie Fish Passage Restoration - Aquatic Contracting

Columbia County, OR

Aquatic Contracting was selected by Hancock Forest Management and the Columbia County Soil and Water Conservation District to construct a new bridge over Wilark Creek, a tributary to the Clatskanie River. AC installed a 55-foot long modular steel bridge, replacing an aging 60-inch perched culvert that was a barrier to fish passage. In addition to the new bridge, the project included reconstructing several hundred feet of access road and improving in-stream and adjacent wetland habitats with large wood placement. After construction, AC crews conducted seeding, erosion control, and installed hundreds of native plants as part of the site restoration.
