Buckmire Slough Restoration - Aquatic Contracting

Vancouver, WA

AC was contracted by the Columbia River Estuary Study Taskforce (CREST) for this restoration project that included removal of two levees and undersized culverts, and then installation of an 80-foot steel bridge with cast in place concrete footings and a cast in place concrete bridge deck. The project also included slough and wetland enhancement, floodplain excavation, placement of large wood to create additional habitat, disposal and grading of excavated materials, installation of in-water isolation, erosion control measures, access road improvements, access road decommissioning, and then replanting and seeding. The project improved habitat access and water quality as part of an effort to restore Buckmire Slough and critical tidally-influenced wetlands along the Lower Columbia River.
